How many representatives should each state have?
Each state receives a minimum of 1 member in the US House of Representatives. There is theoretically no maximum except that the current total has been fixed at 435. Each state also has exactly 2 senators in the US Senate.

On January 6 the ballots are counted by Congress. The President of the Senate announces the winners. On January 20 the candidate receiving a majority (270 or more) of the electoral vote becomes Presdent.
