armed patrol of black neighborhoods to stop violence
Because he was captured by a patrol commanded by Colonel Robert E. Lee.
Blockade running ended primarily due to the increased effectiveness of naval blockades and advancements in technology, such as faster and more powerful warships that could better patrol and intercept blockade runners. Additionally, military strategies evolved to focus on cutting off supplies to enemy forces, making it increasingly difficult for blockade runners to operate successfully. The conclusion of major conflicts, like the American Civil War, also diminished the need for blockade running as the circumstances that necessitated it changed.
Battleships are made from steel. Not entirely true. Battleships were made from various types of wood for a few centuries prior to the advent of steel, although they were most often referred to as "ships of the line." Oak, teak, ironwood, and other types of wood have been used in warship construction (US patrol-torpedo boats were made oh mahogany with a steel superstructure). It is doubtful that peach wood was ever used to build a battleship, but anything is possible. The most dangerous ironclad in the Confederate Navy, CSS Albemarle, was built in a cornfield of green pine covered by iron plate.

This depends on force to force. Not many forces will let cadets go out on patrol at 14. Some forces let cadets go out on patrol at 16, but have to be trained at first aid and radio usage. Some forces don't let cadets go on patrol at all, and some forces just an observer.
If you are part of a combat in patrol in Afghanistan and there are square-sized insurgent forces, you will have to take cover and engage the militants.
A fighting patrol is a military operation conducted by a small unit, typically consisting of infantry, designed to engage the enemy in a limited and controlled manner. Its primary objectives are to gather intelligence, disrupt enemy operations, or engage in skirmishes while maintaining the element of surprise. Unlike larger-scale combat operations, fighting patrols emphasize mobility, stealth, and tactical flexibility, allowing forces to operate effectively in hostile environments. They often operate in enemy territory and require careful planning and execution to minimize risks and maximize effectiveness.
There are seven uniformed branches, but not all of them are part of the Armed Forces. You have:United States ArmyUnited States Air ForceUnited States NavyUnited States Marine CorpsUnited States Coast GuardAdditionally, outside of the Armed Forces, there is:United States Public Health Service Commissioned CorpsNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned CorpsContrary to the beliefs of some, services such as State Guards/State Defence Forces, the United States Merchant Marine, and the Civil Air Patrol are not uniformed services, but rather, auxiliaries. The Merchant Marine is an auxiliary branch of the Navy, the Civil Air Patrol is an auxiliary of the Air Force, and State Guard/Defence Forces are auxiliaries to each individual state's National Guard bureau, and have no standing in the federal structure.
The statues represented the Army, Navy, and Air Force. One for each branch of the military and they represent a squad on patrol.
There are five branches of military forces in the US. These branches are, in ascending order of combat engagement, The Coast Guard, The Air Force, The Navy, The Marine Corps, and The Army. Many consider the Marines to be a sub-group of the Navy. The federal government also has Border Patrol, ATF, and FBI agents who are uniformed. In addition, there are uniformed law enforcement services who serve individual states, counties, and cities, such as National Guard, State Police/Highway Patrol, County Sheriff Departments, and City Police.
Horse patrol is a method commonly used by police forces. However, horse patrols are disadvantageous because criminals in cars can escape the horses.

Back in 1988 Paul filled out a CNN questionaire that called for the elimination of the Border patrol. The BP would be replaced by the Armed Forces. He disputes this claim.

Submarine Combat Pins were awarded during WWII to submarines and the crew when they completed a successful war patrol. The pin itself was awarded for the first success and a star for each following successful patrol. Three stars would represent four successful patrols.
