Yes, he wasassassinated while he attended a performance of "Our American Cousin" at Ford's Theater in Washington DC. A man by the name of John Wilkes Booth shot him from behind while he was watching the play with his wife and 2 other people. Booth, then jumped from the balcony to the stage and ran out the back door. When he jumped his spur caught the bunting and he fell wrong breaking his leg. He left Washington on horse and later had his leg reset by a Dr. Mudd ( he will be tried and serve time on Devil's Island). Booth will be turned in later by a farmer of whose barn he was hiding and will be shot by a Sgt. Corbett ( Corbett will later die in a mental institution). Lincoln died the next day after being carried across the street from the theater to a boarding house. His body will be carried by train to Springfield Ill where he is buried.
He sure was, because he became president in 1861. He was assassinated in 1865. So he would of finish his term in 1869, if he wasn't murdered.
