We have engaged in several undeclared wars, such as the undeclared Naval War with France, under President Adams, and the War with the Barbary Pirates under Jefferson. Some of the conflicts, like Korea, were termed Police Actions, not wars. However, Congress did give approval for the use of US troops. Some Indian battles in the west were carried out without a formal declaration against that particular tribe or settlement.
Every military action since the end of WWII have been undeclared wars. Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraq..etc....
The three bloodiest undeclared wars were the:
1. US Civil War
2. Korean War
3. Vietnam War
Anything other than those wars were simply policing actions.
Two kinds of autonomy people have fought for in U.S. history include moral autonomy and political autonomy. This has been the basis for many wars fought on the part of the United States.

There are at least 3, actually: Susan B. An "un-declared war" is a war in which the combatant nations (the countries fighting each other) do not write papers (complete paper work formalizing the war) stating that they are at war with each. Another words: Its like a reciept when buy something, people want to see IT IN WRITING. War is seeing IT IN WRITING. Two examples of US undeclared wars are the US Civil War and Vietnam War.
US Civil War & Vietnam War are two examples.
There were two declared wars, and several undeclared conflicts and "police actions". World War I World War II Korean War ("police action") Vietnam War Iraq War I (1991/92, after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait) Grenada "police action" Invasion of Panama
There were several wars going on between those years, but I'm guessing that you want the American Revolution and the War of 1812.
