Why is Lincoln honored?

Abraham Lincoln was honored because he ended slavery and without him, we would probably have slaves working in factories and have to be doing stuff like hard labor.

What was one of Abraham Lincoln's for issuing the Emancipation proclamation?

President Lincoln wanted to encourage Northerners to keep fighting against the South, if that a reason, then he must have misunderstood why Northerners were going to risk their lives. It was a patriotic duty to preserve the Union. If that were not so, then prior to the war, there would have been mass demonstrations led by abolitionists to free slaves. There were no such mass demonstrations. To encourage African Americans to join Union armies France and Great Britain were doing just about all they wanted to do to supply the South.

What constitutional right did Lincoln have to free enslaves African American in the south?

Tricky question. The South had declared itself to be a separate nation, over which Lincoln had no authority. But Lincoln did not accept this state of affairs, and Britain and France did not grant official recognition, though they came close to doing so. Aside from Constitutional rights, Lincoln did of course have no actual power to free Southern slaves while the war lasted, except to give Union troops permission to rob the enemy of his chattels, which included slaves.

Was Abraham Lincoln re-elected?

Yes, because of his work on the Emancipation Proclamation, (Which made people who wanted the slaves free, happy) and possibly by doing well in the war.

What were slaves doing when they obey their masters?

When slaves obeyed their masters, they were typically completing tasks or performing labor assigned to them. This could include agricultural work, domestic chores, or other duties as instructed by their master. Obedience was often enforced through coercion, threat of punishment, or use of physical force.

Why did it take so long for Abraham Lincoln to sign the proclamation to free slaves?

White people were, some still are, racists and did not want to give up their slaves. The slaves were afraid to run away because they were fearful of being killed which was not against the law back then.
