After viewing the Changeling movie, I did a lot of research on this case. Here's what I've found...
Gordon Northcott, as you know, was tried, convicted, and hanged, for murdering the young boys as his ranch. <---And rightly so! Personally, I hope there was a special spot in hell for him!
Sanford Clark, Gordon's nephew, spent only 23 months in a youth-correctional facility. When he got out, he returned to Canada, where he got a job, and did quite successfully with his job, got married, and he and his wife adopted and raised two sons. Sanford's son, Jerry, later on in life said that the youth-correctional facility, his mother, and his aunt, [Sanford's sister] saved his father. Supposedly, he was a very devout Christian after this incident. <---I must say, I was ecstatic when I found that out. After I saw the movie, I felt a very warm spot in my heart for Sanford. My heart absolutely BLED for Sanford, upon seeing the movie!
Reverend Briegleb spent the rest of his life exposing the police's misuse of their power, their wrongdoings, and the corruptions, on his radio show. He and Christine Collins remained life-long friends!
After the hearing, Captain Jones and Chief Davis were demoted. And, Mayor Cryer chose not to run for re-election.
And as for Christine Collins, little is known about her after the Changeling events. All that is known, is that she spent the rest of her life searching for her son.
I certainly tip my hat to Mrs. Collins, Detective Ybarra, and the Reverend. I hope that there was a special place in Heaven for all of them, and Walter, and Sanford. I felt the biggest spot in my heart for all of them.
