Shawnee (Spelt correctly)
This may not be a true Native American word. Some text indicate it was a name given to an Indian camp found in what is now Jacksonville, Florida -- the area's earliest known archeological site showing a camp or town. These sources say Ossachite was a name given by anthropologist studing the area. However, the word is very close to "Creek town" indicating creek Indians in Muskhogean. Creek is "Ocheese" in there native language.
