There are three different types of warship. Battleships are In the USN named after states, are heavily armed(l6 Inch cannons) and armored, Cruisers are or were named after cities(Boston, for example, have armament of either 6 inch or 8 Inch guns and Destroyers, primarily out to fight subs, are the fastest and lightest full Fleet ships and have normally only five inch guns but heavy torpedo and depth charge armament. The US Navy has never used cruiser battleships=which would be imn between the tonnage and armament of a Cruiser (Ca) and a Battleship (BB) The closest might be the so-called Battle cruisers of the territorial class which had l2-inch guns an odd Calliber in the USN the british had Battle Cruisers which had heavy ordnance(up to l5 inch guns, but very light deck armor= the H.M.s. Hood was sunk with heavy loss being one of these hybrid ships! They had a high cruising speed compared to a reguyalr battleship, but were not as well protected. with modern aircraft and dive bombers about this was not adequate defense. There is no detroyer-battleship but there wee heavy vessels inthe Japanese navy betweeemn a destroyer and a cruiser, these had very heavy torpedo armament. It WA claimed undr ideal conditons they could(Knock Off) anentire task force with multiple torpedo salvos- firingorders would be-One and two Banks- 20 degrees spread and twelve fish could be fired at once! Mp UIs ships of this type.

The term "battleship" is sometimes incorrectly subsituted for "warship," and this may be the case with this question. In the days when warships were built of wood and powered by sail, a large ship with a lot of big guns was called a "Battle-Ship of the Line." Over time this nomenclature was abbreviated to "battleship." The cruiser developed in the 1800's, smaller and less powerful than a battleship but with the ability to remain at sea for long periods of time. These warships had to be protected from torpedo boats, so the "Torpedo Boat Destroyer" was developed, and this name was later shortened to "destroyer." In the 1900's, torpedo boats became less of a problem, but the larger warships still needed protection from new weapons, the aircraft and the submarine. By the same token, the "Aircraft Carrier" is now more commonly known simply as a "carrier."
It is the USS New York, BB-34, a WWI-era battleship.
Battle of the Sea of Japan; also known as the Battle of Tsushima. History's only decisive battleship fleet action.
1918-series $2 bills have a picture of the USS New York, a WWI-era battleship.
It Did Make a Difference was created in 1989.
That most closely describes a 1914 $50 Federal Reserve Note. 1914 was the year the Panama Canal opened, and these bills show an allegorical figure representing Panama in the center and a battleship on one side.
carrier, battleship, cruiser, destroyer, submarine
Hmmm seven types of warship perhaps .... Submarine, Corvette, Destroyer, Cruiser, Battle Cruiser, Battleship, Aircraft Carrier
A battleship, a battle cruiser or a cruiser, depending on its size.
A battle-cruiser is a form of warship equal or larger in size to a battleship, and with greater speed, but with less armour and fewer guns.
In the game Battleship, the largest ship is the Aircraft Carrier. It covers 5 grid spaces. The Battleship covers 4, the Cruiser 3, the Submarine 3, and the Destroyer 2.
it was a 'pocket battleship', because of treaty restrictions, Germany could not build battleships, so it was the size of a cruiser but with the armament of a battleship.
A cruiser. This is the medium sized warship; the "Tin Can" (destroyer) is the smallest warship.
An insect-destoyer gun
I think you mean HMS Belfast which is a WW2 era Cruiser moored in the Thames in central London. A true 'Battleship' would be several times the size.
One ship was sunk by the Bismark. It was the British Battle-cruiser Hood, which was sunk during a naval battle between the Bismark, the escorting cruiser Prince Eugen, the Hood, and the Battleship Prince of Wales. The Bismark was then sunk a few days later by elements of the Home Fleet, and Air Arm.
Tirpitz was sunk in a fiord Scharnhorst was sunk off the Norwegian coast and the Cruiser Blucher was destroyed in another fiord
Large and slow would be a battleship. Medium and fast would be a frigate. ANS 2 - The classic name would be a 'battleship', and they are not necessarily slow. - however it could also be a dreadnought, a cruiser, a frigate or a destroyer.
