native Americans worship the eagle and other animals like the thunder bird.

Answer: No we do not worship the eagle or thunder bird. We worship God, the Great Spirit, Creator or any other word a tribe may have for God. We respect and honor the spirits of all animals and all things. We respect and honor the earth mother. Beyond that, it depends upon the tribe, and what time frame you are speaking about.

Before answering please understand native American faith practice was not a religion they did it was their way of life. They did nothing witout consulting the Great Spirit first. The stopped to give thanks many times in hunt, or gathering of food, and they took all in reverence, wasting nothing. They didn't take from the earth without giving something back to her. To me The Bible describes it well (paraphrased) - We should pray without ceasing.

I was not raised on a reservation so I can not share more than I have been told. There were certain ceremonies that were sacred the tribe would attend as a whole but most elders I know would be concerned if you told them you only worship God 3 times a week. They would question how you can walk with an omnipotent spirit who is everywhere in all things and not acknowledge him many times in a day.
