The Huron were a Native American people that inhabited parts of central Ontario during the 17th century. Between the years 1648-1650, the Iroquois defeated the Huron. At this time, different factions relocated to parts of Quebec and the Ohio Valley. Between 1840 and 1860, the Huron were moved forcefully to Kansas and Oklahoma. The Huron people were also known as the Wyandot.

The Huron Confederacy resided in the Great Lakes region, i.e. Ontario, western Quebec, and northern Michigan. The remnants, the Wyandot people, today live in Kansas and Oklahoma.
