There is also Central America, which is a smaller land bridge between North America and South America; people settled there, too.

Well, there were many theories of how America was settled. Many say they started in Africa and crossed the Bering Strait land bridge (that is now covered by the ocean) that connected Asia and America and settled in the Americas.
