The Chumash tribe had a complex social structure in which various individuals and groups played roles in teaching and caring for the community. Among these were tribal elders, spiritual leaders, and skilled artisans who passed down traditions, knowledge, and skills to younger generations. Additionally, shamans and healers provided spiritual guidance and healthcare services to the tribe, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
