Intolerable acts were a series of acts passed by British that worsened the colonial opinion of British. There were four major acts which are called intolerable acts. They were passed to ban town meetings in Massachusetts and altered the charter, close Boston port till the reimbursement of lost tea to British as a result of Boston Tea Party, declare that all British soldiers to be tried for crimes were to be arraigned in Britain and Royal governors could house British troops in houses owned by locals without prior permission from the owner.
