It's not clear why a person would discriminate against a lower social class. Discrimination is something that most people disagree with and wouldn't knowingly do. Our system in the U.S. is designed to allow mobility between social classes, so a well-motivated lower class person should be able to better himself and enter the middle class. It's probably worth pointing out that a lot of perceived or claimed discrimination is imagined rather than real.

Because of easily identifiable characteristics or because of stereotyped characteristics associated with an identifiable characteristic.

That is, one might discriminate against Blacks whenever one identifies someone as Black ... OR one might discriminate against people easily identified as Black because of the stereotyped belief that all Blacks are lazy.

I think is because we feel our race is better than other races, mainly because we aren't the other race and therefor have no idea what it feels to be someone else so we just descriminate.
