She was not that old. My guess she had health problems that were tied into her heavy body weight. The Empress was built like a Tank. She required a squad of at least six Ladies-In-Waiting to maneuver her sedan chair. In the latter part of her reign, she was unable to walk normally. She reigned between l740-80. among other positive accomplishments she participated in the partition of Poland in l772, and also was instrumental in the founding of La Scala ( the Opera house) in l778, which she personally visited! Exactly how she died I do not know, it is worth looking up, certainly a famous Queen/Empress. Daughter No.4 was ill-fated Marie Antoinette.
