∙ 12y agothe reign of terror was led by Robespierre and the Jacobin, led to the directory ruling France for a while because it showed that a monarchy wasn't exactly working so an oligarchy was instigated with the directory though it proved to be weak, and it was later overthrown by Napoleon Bonaparte
