Who was Prince Chandragupta Maurya?

Chandragupata Maurya was an emperor of India. His great success was to defeat Selucus, King of Greece. He was married with Helan, a Greek Princess. His son Emperor Bindusar Maurya was also an efficient ruler. Great Emperor Ashok Maurya was his grandson. He was a Shakya kshatriya by caste. His father King Koir was ruler of Kingdom of Pippaliwan, who was killed before his birth. His mother Queen Mura widow of King Koir came to Patliputra (Patna). Here She worked hard to earn livelihood and even suffered defamation charges. But She inspired her son to be a great king. Chandragupta did the same. Initially he got job in Army of Maghadha. Then attacked Maghadha with the help of rival/Salaried soldiers, Chanakya and Kashmir King Parvatak and By this win, he became first emperor of India.


What did Chandragupta do?

He used his wealth to improve his empire are starved himself to death to make his empire a better place. He brought water to farmers, made forests cleared, made more food produce,promoted crafts and mining,brought peace,made roads which made trade easier and became know as the greatest king.
