Interesting Question, My first thought is the explanation the Biblical Figure Moses gives in regards to what he witnessed during the time he was taking care of his Father-in-Laws Flock, when he see's something he has never seen before, which he describes as a burning bush, that did not consume itself- as it not possible to describe something that you have no relative comparison to, for instance, if the lights he was seeing, which he describes as Fire, as in "Burning Bush" were lets say the lights used on a 747, how could he describe them? having not the relative comparison to the one, Vs the other? he is describing lights, as in the lights produced by fire, but other then the Sun or Moon, or stars, what Relative Comparison could he give, having not the Language in his Vocabulary, other then the language of the primitive times themselves, or lets say he saw a 747 in that day, how could he describe it as being anything other then a Giant Bird, who's wings made the sound of many Trumpets, who's sides were filled with crystal eyes, etc ? So it would seem obvious to me, that the effect on history often resulted in a continuation of Fables and fairy tales, and even as Technology, and Science took root, even to this day, the world is full of ignorance, to such a degree, that the example about, the burning bush, actually has a Shrine built over the spot the bush was alleged to have been. YIKES!
