Superman really isn't significant to Canadian history at all. I had the same topic for my history summative. I stated three categories: Merchandise (Superman logo T-Shirts, Comics, Movies, etc.), Inspiration (Invention of Superman lead to the idea of Wonder Woman and Batman, which was very successful and popular in Canada.), Publication (He's half Canadian because Joe Shuster was the artist, born in Canada.) So Superman is not significant to Canadian history in any major way, but just try your best to find what you can.

In his 1883 book Also Sprach Zarathustra, the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) coined the term "supermen" (Ubermensch) to represent a higher biological type of human, one that transcended certain human morals as well as common human failings. He envisioned the superman to have physical and mental superiority, embodying a philosophy akin to those seen in the Italian Renaissance: a ruthless warrior who nonetheless possessed artistic brilliance. Nietzsche's concept of artificial selection was later developed as the study of eugenics. In 1938, the term "superman" was applied to the sole survivor of an evolved superhuman race on the planet Krypton, i.e. the comics character Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.
