Elements of History
1.Time - Gives meaning to the movements and decisions of great men and women of history.
2.Place - what man does is greatly influenced by his environment.
3.People - the dynamic element.
The three basic elements of history:
Multiple causation
Context
Change and continuity
Multiple causation has to do with various and most important causes of the event(s). What you (the Historiographer or History) think would be responsible for that event (s).
Context typically deals with the place or period the event (s) took place. The environment around which that particular event took place.
Change and continuity talk about either that particular event (s) had come to an end or are still being continued. Example, is slavery still existing in Africa or not? If yes, then there's community but if no then it has stopped!
The three elements of history are time, place, and people. Time gives meaning to the event, place shows environment, and people are the key elements to events in history. Without people there wouldn't be any history.
