What are the special features of Ontario?

Ontario is the most heavily populated province in Canada and is incredibly diversified. The majority of the population of Ontario lives in South Western Ontario. Northern Ontario is populated in scattered settlements and is primarily focused on primary industries such as mining and lumber. After Canadian Confederation the border between Ontario and Manitoba was heavily debated because of the rich natural resources in Northern Ontario. The Federal government had promised all money from natural resources to the provinces so obviously both provinces were very competitive in setting a border. The Capital of Ontario is Toronto (formally called York). In Ontario you can also find the capital of Canada (Ottawa). One of the 7 natural wonders of the world can be found in Ontario in the form of Niagara Falls. Historically, Ontario survived economically through agriculture but since the early 1900's Ontario economy has been based off of manufacturing.
