There were few sailors in the 1400’s. Columbus didn’t sail until 1492 and he is considered the earliest ship. They would wear a cotton pair of pants (jean type of material), loose shirt, a leather shoe or boot, and a hat. Most sailors were very rough people and would come out of jail in the mornings and sign onto a ship. They had little and didn’t need much.
