It is discussed and amended as appropriate. Then it is passed to the Senate, who lso discuss and amend . When both houses are satisfied, it is then sent to the President for signature. At this point it then becomes an Act.

In Great Britain, the proceedure is very similar. except if the House of Lords(Senate) make amendments, it then goes back to the House of Commons(House of Representatives) for further diuscussion. It is only when both houses are satisfied that it gores to ther King for the Royal Assent, where upon it is an Act.of Patrliament.

In the Great Britain, this first sentence of every Act of Parliament is ' Be it enacted by the King's most excellent majesty, and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual, Temperal , and Commons in this present parliament assembled. '

Once a bill enters the house it is then referred to a committee by the House speaker. The bill is then taken into consideration by the committee.
