To the northwest of this is the Republic of Congo, sometimes called Congo-Brazzaville.

DRC or Democratic Republic of the Congo and formerly Zaïre.

Keep in mind there was a 'French Congo' and a 'Belgian Congo' having been neighbors and divided by the Congo river.
