Many Africans were oppressed by settlers in their own country. This made life hard for them even though they were not slaves.

Ans 2 - Many more Africans were given employment, education and medical assistance by settlers in some countries. Settlers ended many tribal wars and and brought relative peace in many countries. - Don't believe all the Propaganda you are taught, the world is not Black and White - there are many shades in between

they where forced to live in disgusting conditions and where fed very little water or food they where split up from their family's and where sold for slave labour, many died traveling to remote parts of America. :(
