BC in a date stands for Before Christ. The term used now is BCE for Before Common Era, Before the Christian Era or Before the Current Era.
Around the year 2000 BC, Stonehenge was completed.
It is a secular (non-religious) synonym for "Before Christ" (BC), which is the method of referring to years prior to the year 1. For example, Julius Caesar of the Roman Empire died in 45 BC, or 45 BCE. Both "BC" and "BCE" are interchangeable, and refer to the exact same year. Just as "BCE" is used to replace "BC", the acronym "CE" is used to replace "AD".
The ancient capital was likely a city called Thebes. Ahmose I founded a new age for a unified Egypt with Thebes as its capital. The city remained as capital during most of the 18th Dynasty (New Kingdom).Memphis was the ancient capital of Aneb-Hetch, the first nome of Lower Egypt
bc comes first because bc stands for before christ
it was invented in 530 BC
Tradition dictates that the Pythagorean Theorem was discovered by Pythagoras, a Greek mathematician, who lived around 570-495 BC.
a squared + b squared=c squared
It was years before, Pythagoras(580 BC - 500 BC) is said to have discovered Pythagorean Theorem. Strangely, 5 centuries after Pythagoras lived, the theorem Pythagorean was attributed to him. The discovery of the theorm Pythagorean came when Pythagoras was waiting for the tyrannical ruler, Polycrates. An interesting idea had flashed Pythagoras mind: A diagonal line can be used to cut or divide the square and two right triangles would be produced from the cut sides. After examining it further, Pythagoras formulated the idea in mind. Happy to help you.
The Pythagorean theorem is attributed to the ancient Greek mathematician Pythagoras, who lived around 570-495 BC. However, there is evidence to suggest that the theorem was known to the Babylonians even earlier.
Pythagoras, after whom the theory is named, lived sometime between 600 BC and 500 BC, the exact dates are not known.
The idea of the Pythagorean theorem is very old. It has been used for over 4000 years. However, Pythagoras was the first to actually use it as a mathematical equation in 500 BC. Therefore, he is credited with the discovery.
Although it is often argued that knowledge of the theorem predates him, the theorem is named after the ancient Greek mathematician Pythagoras (c. 570 - c. 495 BC) as it is he who, by tradition, is credited with its first recorded proof.
The Pythagorean theorem was formed in Ancient Greece between 570 and 495 BC (Pythagoras' lifetime).
Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher and mathematician who proved the Pythagorean theorem; considered to be the first true mathematician (circa 580-500 BC)
The pythagorean theorem is the equation used to find the hypotenuse or missing side in a right triangle. It is named after Pythagoras of Samos, a mathematician who lived in the 5th and 6th centuries BC.
The Pythagorean Theorem was named after the guy who discovered it. He was a Greek named Pythagoras. We don't know much about him. We think he died around 500 BC. There's more information in his Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pythagoras or you can use Google to find out more about him. Good luck, Doug
