There was no fast way in the 1500's. Communication was face to face at its best. Sometimes a letter would reach a person, but it took a long time. Imagine you move away from your home area. It was possible that from that point you would never see or talk to the family that you left behind.

Basically the fastest method of communication back then was by boat and once a message got to land, a horse rider delivered it.
