It took place in France.
The French Revolution was a revolt initiated and carried out by the peasants of France against the aristocrats and clergy of France, which spread throughout the entire country of France and even seeped into other parts of Europe.
There were disturbances from 1787 to 1789, and armed conflicts from 1789 to 1799, including the Reign of Terror (1793-1794). France occupied Belgium and the Netherlands following the establishment of the First Republic in 1792.
Events in 1789 began with the convocation of the Estates-General in May. The first year of the Revolution witnessed members of the Third Estate proclaiming the Tennis Court Oath in June, the assault on the Bastille in July, the passage of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen in August, and an epic march on Versailles that forced the royal court back to Paris in October.
A well-known event mentioned above was the storming of the Bastille - a building that was, at the time, a large prison. Many aristocrats would throw peasants in jail (Bastille being a major one) for no legitimate reason. They had the right to do this because of their royalty.
Well, since the name of the FRENCH Revolution is the FRENCH Revolution, will you believe that the FRENCH Revolution took place in France? does that make sense?

What we now consider the dignity of the individual, the sanctity of human life, "civil rights", the equality of all humans under the law, things in other words that we take for granted today were all the result of the French revolution of 1789. Its constituents greatly influenced the American revolutionaries who went on to compose the Constitution of the US based on the enlightenment ideals that preceded the French revolution.
The French Revolution was a time of political and social upheaval in France that lasted from 1789 until 1799. The Revolution resulted in the overthrow of the monarchy, and the establishment of the French Republic. It also led to the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte, who would rule France for the next decade. The Revolution was caused by a number of factors, including the financial problems of the French government, the high cost of living, and the unfair treatment of the lower classes by the aristocracy. These issues came to a head in 1789, when the people of France began to take action. The first step in the Revolution was the storming of the Bastille, a fortress in Paris that was used as a prison. This event, which took place on July 14, 1789, is now considered the start of the Revolution. Over the next few years, the people of France would continue to fight for their rights, culminating in the adoption of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen in 1789. This document guaranteed equality for all men, regardless of their social class. In 1792, France would go to war with a number of European countries, including Austria and Prussia. These wars would drain the resources of the French government, and would ultimately lead to the downfall of the monarchy. In 1799, Napoleon Bonaparte would take control of the French government, and would rule as a dictator. Napoleon would lead France to a number of military successes, but would ultimately be defeated in 1815 at the Battle of Waterloo. After Napoleon's defeat, the people of France would once again overthrow the government, and establish the French Second Republic. This Republic would last until 1852, when Napoleon's nephew, Louis Napoleon, would take power and establish the French Second Empire.
The time period after the French Revolution was primarily characterized by Napoleon Bonaparte holding power in France. Although a French Directory government was set up after the Revolution, it quickly collapsed, paving the way for Napoleon to take control.
Because people outside of France, take the United States for example, wanted French to have the same freedoms that the Unted States has and they helped us in the American Revolution and some people believed we should return the favor.

in france...
French Revolution took place in only France. It began in Paris and spread throughout the Nation.
A lot of people are confused between the French and Industrial Revolutions because (1) they both have the word "revolution" in them, (2) they both take place in Europe, (3) and they both take place at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century. However, the French Revolution and Industrial Revolution are fundamentally different affairs.
It began with the Storming of the Bastille in Paris and spread from there.
It spread across the Nation, but began in Paris.
