What was the reaction of native people of World War 1?

Well, if by native you mean people living along the Western or Eastern Fronts, then their lives as they knew them were destroyed.... Many native people living in European colonies (in places like Africa and Asia) fought in the war in hopes of getting their mother countries' trust, and so being able to cooperate and gain independence. However, under the mandate system established after World War One, the old colonies came under control of the League of Nations, who would supposedly help them gain the skills needed to function as a country and then give them their independence when deemed ready. In essence, they were back to where they started as colonies, which angered many of the native people expecting independence.
