The Fasimbas were a regiment of Tshaka's army. Tshaka (also sometimes spelled Shaka) Zulu was one of the greatest African warriors. His army consisted of different regiments or impis. Each had its own shield, war cries and uniform. After the death of King Dingiswayo in 1818, Shaka became Chief of Chiefs and proved to be one of the greatest kings in all of African history. He named his capital Bulawayo. Shaka is renowned for his military genius, discipline and attempt to unify the warring tribes of the Zulu Nation. With the force of arms and diplomacy, he unified his people so effectively that he was able to resist the invasion of white people from Europe and maintain peace among Black people in the south part of Africa. Shaka built a Zulu Nation that expanded over a hundred thousand square miles of land and created a military machine capable of inflicting heavy casualties on British troops and calvarymen who were armed with rifles, cannons, rockets and other advanced weapons.

In 1785, Prussian King Frederick II formed the "League of Princes" to squelch the ambitions of the Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II.Troops were supplied to support his effort coming from several areas across Germany, including Palatinate-Zweibrücken.
1. Germany was still a country, they only lost the parts they conquered 2. A British shell landed on a Austro-Hungarian trench and a whole regiment was wiped out except for one person, his name was Adolf Hitler.
this may confuse you... but just that, the guards.... britain has several regiments designated as guards, for example the coldstream guards, etc. this goes back to pre-napoleonic times when guards regiment were seen as superior to regular ones (indeed soldiers in guards regiments had two ranks, one (the higher) for dealing with other regiments in order to back up their superiority, and the lower rank for use inside the regiment in order to allow it to function properly. by being seen as superior these regiments were considered appropriate to guard the queen.
