While away they accused obote on the radio of his regime corruption, economic mismanagement, and suppressing democracy, and failing to maintain Law and Order.Then declared himself the new president of Uganda. He then made promises of which he said he would eliminate Obote's secret police. Also he said he would free the political prisoners.
