The Flathead Indians are a native American tribe, who lived in western Montana.They were best known for their bravery,honesty,generly high carecter,and friendly disposition towards the white men.Their real name for themselves was Salish or in their languege "the people".The Salish were called Flathead by the first white men who came to the colubia river area.They wre also called Flathead by neiboring Indian tribes who made their babies where cone shaped haidresses made of cedar forcing the babies head to become pionted.The Salish were one of the only tribes in Montana who diden't practice the reshaping of the skull.That in whoch made their head to neiboring tribes made their heads look flat.The Flathed Indians tradishinal enimes the blackfeet.The blackfeet Indians prevented the Salish from moving eastward.The Flatheadswere hunters and gatherers.They mostly gatherd edibal plants such as bitterroot,mosses,camas,sarvis,wild onions, and Indian potatoes.In late summer and fall the salish men hunted elk and deer as well as small game.The flatheds used almost everything they could from animals and wasted nothing.The Salish mostly lived in loges and huts.There does that answer your question, because that's all I am going to tell you.
