Political theory specialises in creating points of view for understanding politics. Some of these processes or analyses may not be 'scientific' (though this is debatable), and so political science consists of using scientific methods in understanding politics.

What is the relationship between history and political science?

Up until the early 20th century there was no separate discipline called political science. The study of politics to that time focussed either on historiographic depictions of particular political events/people, or on philosophical analyses of idealized political systems (often with moral or ethical overtones, since the aim of political theory is to understand and improve political systems). Political science as an academic discipline grew out of a desire to do practical research on the workings of actual governments (public policy, relationships between nations and states, relations between governments and their people, and the like). There are overlaps still between history and political science, but they have different goals. History concerns itself with the accurate depiction of people and events, often in very idiosyncratic terms. Historical analysis can be very sophisticated, but it is usually limited in scope to the events it is discussing. Political science (as a science) is more interested in general principles. Political scientists want to understand particular events in order to understand how events of that kind work in general, so that they can anticipate or change future events.

How does political science affect history?

Relation between political science and history:-the relation between political science and history is very close. It has been put by sir,John Seeley in this couplet.'History without political science has no fruit''Political science without history has no root'1)History essential for political science:-History is a record of past events. It provides raw material to political science.political science tells us not only what the state is but also what it has been. The study of the state as it has been can be done only with the help of history.Historical study is essential for understanding political thoughts, movements and institutions history is a vast store house of facts and information as from which political science abtains data for its generalisation.2)Political science essential for history:-history has also much to borrow from political science. our knowledge of history is meaningless if the political bearings of events and movements are adequately appreciated.e.g.The history of the nineteenth century Europe cannot be fully understood withoutbringing out the significance of movement like nationalism, imperialism, individualism and socialism.3)Difference between the two:-all this does not mean that history and political science are one and the same. There are fundamental difference between the two. History is a record of past events and movements which embraces wars, revolution, military compaign, economic, political, social and religious upheavals. All this matirial is not required for purposes of political science. The main concern of the student of political science is to study the evolution of political institutions and other facts which bear directly or indirectly on the state.Political science thus selects facts out of history.Conclusion:-Our conclusion is that political science and history, though they are different subjects yet they touch each other on many points.

COMPARISION between history and political science?

History is the study of past events, people, societies, and cultures to understand the evolution of human societies over time. Political science, on the other hand, focuses on the study of political systems, institutions, behaviors, and ideologies to analyze power dynamics and decision-making processes within society. While history provides a broad perspective on how societies have developed, political science offers a more specialized focus on political structures and mechanisms of governance.

What is the difference between political science and political science?

Improve Political Science is much more focused on the mechanics of the state and political systems. Usually, they focus the study of one particular branch of the state, such as the presidency, legislature, or judiciary. Other branches focus on voting behavior, political parties, relations between states (International Relations/Foreign Policy), or differences between political systems (comparative politics). Science refers to a system of acquiring knowledge. This system uses observation and experimentation to describe and explain natural phenomena. The term science also refers to the organized body of knowledge people have gained using that system. Less formally, the word science often describes any systematic field of study or the knowledge gained from it.

What is the difference between Political Science and Civics as a course of study?

Civics is a part of political science. The scope of political science is more wider than civics. Civics is the study of citizenship and Political science is the study of states. These two disciplines are closely interconnected. In some countries, Civics is taught as an initials of Political science but in higher stage there is no need to study civics. State without citizen is impossible. so, Civics is the primary or initial study of Political science.
