There is no requirement that the President have military experience. However, the President is the Commander in Chief of the US Military. As such, it is certainly a big plus in the minds of many people, including the military.

No, you do not have to have served in the military to become President of the United States. The three requirements listed in the Constitution are 1- you must be born within the US or its territories, 2- be over age 35, and 3 -to have lived in the United States at least 14 years.

No, in fact there were several great presidents who did not serve in the military including, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Franklin D Roosevelt Calvin Coolidge and William Howard Taft.

No, in fact, many of the presidents have never even served in the Military. Only twenty of the 43 had war time service and 15 had no military service at all.
