Patriots
The American Revolution was characterized by a split in the support of colonist belligerents. Those who supported the American independence were called Patriots for their patriotic drive of self-government and republicanism. They were also sometimes called Whigs, who were members of the British Parliament who supported the colonists' side. These Patriots were usually farmers and countrymen who often felt the brunt of the taxes Parliament had levied on the colonies. Those who were against independence were called Loyalists or Tories, who were members of Parliament who were against the colonies.
It basically declared the colonies " free from the king " and it declared war on Britian.
There had been revolutions prior to the American Revolution. But this was the first time a group of people outlined in writing (the Declaration) the reasons they were revolting and declaring that they were an independent state (nation).
Native Americans played roles on both sides of the American Revolution. Some tribes decided to side with the British forces against the American revolutionaries. Others, did opposite and allied themselves with the Continental Army in the fight for American independence.

Robespierre DID support the American revolution. It was partly the American revolution that inspired him. Many French soldiers also fought in the American revolution. As for why; Robespierre belived that everyone should be equal and have rights, including the people in America. He always had his client's (for he was a lawyer) human rights as his best interests, so he belived strongly in the American revolution.

After the American revolution the people were happy because they gained their independence and they started to develop the United States Of America.
YesHowever, this wasn't ALL of the revolution. Some of the revolution was in the minds of people: whether to stay with people or leave. The American Revolution also includes the writing of the Declaration of Independence and other important things. The war was just a part that was necessary to claim independence from Great Britain's king, King George the 3rd.

The Canadians and most of the other British colonies sided with the British. The Indian tribes near Canada favored the British. A fair number of people in the American colonies were against the revolution-- they were known as Tories. Some of them fled to Canada.

The Declaration of Independence declared the US's independence from Great Britain which basically started the American Revolution. It was a kind of letter that showed why the US was angry and stated the basic principles the people wanted.
