I'm going to guess it was between China and England over trade routes during ming dynSTY. The Chinese I think were getting hooked on it and some how the English empire was making money off it. It was processed and manufacturer-ed and sold back and there was a trade deficit. The chinese use to make money off silver, pottery and silk. We have a trade deficit today as well. I'm going to Google it. It has something to do with the great wall and why China had closed off trade to start with. I think that is how the royal family got all their wealth and what fueled the aristocracy. Today we have blood diamonds and drugs. I still burn the frankincense.
I use to like to smoke opium when I was in high school but it was hard to find. It would taste a little like soap, but they usually sole it to you right on the screen . It was a black tarry goo like substance and we usually did it with a little hash. I miss the 70's. I did go nuts and had mood swings when I came off it and got misdiagnosed with manic depression but I responded to the lithium anyhow.
I got my life together long enough to graduate. They teach the impact of the opium wars in 11th grade American History class, but I don't think we were in it. I think It had something to do with open markets and terr-ifs on foreign imports. Very good question. the opium wars are going on right now in Afghanistan if you want my honest opinion.
The Opium Wars occurred from 1839 - 1842, it was fought over Britains right to sell opium in China. When the Chinese Government finally had enough of their people becoming opium addicts they decided to go to war. But it ended up in an embarrising defeat by the British and the British continued to sell opium in China., and the Treaty of Nanjing gave the British control over Hong Kong.
The First Opium War (1839- 1842) is the war between China and Britain.
In 1842 the Qing authorities sued for peace, which concluded with the Treaty of Nanking. The treaty included ceding to Britain the crown colony of Hong Kong and allowing Britain and other foreign powers to operate in a number of Chinese ports
Okay, well the opium wars did not help China's economy at all and the opium was still being trade. In 1899 the United States. declares the open door policy to China which means China has to open the door to every merchants in all nations
I argue that it is not. For the most part, people do not take arms up against people of other races, cultures, or even smaller differences which seem insignificant, like in many other countries. Many different races live in China, and there are hundreds of different dialects of languages spoken in China. China is not the most racist country, not even close.
Opium is produced by scoring the poppy pods which causes the latex to ooze out and then solidify. This raw opium is converted to smoking opium by dissolving it in hot water and filtering it to remove plant material and other insoluble impurities. The water and opium mixture is then heated over a low flame to evaporate the water. Once it resembles a sticky paste it is dried in the sun.
As of July 2014, the estimated amount of money owed to China from the United States is 17 trillion dollars. The US owes China more than any other country.
Japan also lays claim to the Senkaku Islands.
Great Britain forced China to open trade with other countries... I just learned about this. :D The Opium Wars between Great Britain and China resulted in the opening of China for trade.

India
He argued that China was a valuable trading partner to the west, which furnished silk, porcelain and many other fine objects, and the "barbarians" of the west returned "the poison" of Opium. He detested the arrangement.
The Himalayas lie between India and China.
The British wanted to trade opium for China's resources.
Mongolia is a country located between China and Russia. It is a neutral country and is not an ally of the USA or of any other country.
contact between Europe , china and other country
Actually, neither Britain nor any other European country ever controlled China. Britain tried to gain influence and went to war against China in 1842 as the Chinese wouldn't let British sell opium (heroine!) to China. At the end of this small-scale war China had to hand over part of Hong Kong to Britain and make some other minor concessions. This triggered rivlaries in the Far East between the European colonial powers, each keen to have its port(s) and concessions. Although all this was very demeaning for the Chinese, the competition between the European powers had the effect of preventing any one country from gaining control.
China is a country there are no other countries within it. The population of China is in excess of one billion.
If you are talking about the opium wars that happened in china you are right. Because the English were having a balance of trade problem as a result of their love of tea (they were paying the Chinese for it with their gold) they started to pay for the tea with opium instead. Before long the Chinese woke up to the effect that opium was having on their society and made the opium trade illegal. the English other European country's and Americans then attacked the Chinese in order to maintain the status quo and force the Chinese to take payment in opium. this sounds like the boxer rebellion.
The country that is between Russia and China that borders no other countries is Mongolia. Mongolia became independent in the year 1912 after the Qing empire was overthrown.
