There are a number of benefits that accrued to Great Britain as a result of Imperialism.
Resources: There were an incredible variety of resources produced around the world that fed into the European industrial machine. Malaysia had rubber trees, Nigeria and a number of Central African colonies produce coltan and other metal ores, the Persian Gulf is known for petroleum, etc. The British used these resources to power their industrial rise.
Strategic Territory: Numerous colonies had specific strategic locations, such as Egypt with the current Suez Canal, Somaliland with the Gulf of Aden, India because of its massive spice production and outlets to the Indian ocean. Burma was close to the unconquerable Qing Empire. Many colonies were chosen specifically based on where they were and how effectively defense could be maintained by holding those positions.
Christian Evangelism: Many Europeans, including the British, believed quite strongly at the time that their technological success was correlated with their belief in Christianity. In their view, non-Christians like the Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, etc. were hindered by the mentalities present in their religions from being technologically astute. In order to "help" these people to becomes more modern and more worldly, it was "necessary" to teach them the proper way to believe so that they too could succeed. Sometimes this evangelism was benign. At other times, it erupted in full-scale conflict, such as the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857.
Labor and Military Augmentation: The colonies, especially in Asia, had very high populations relative to European countries. This allowed the British to add large numbers to their labor force and to create new military divisions from this large population, especially as concerns the British presence in India.
Appearance of Power: European Leaders ascribed power and dominance to those countries who were able to amass a large number of colonies, especially if they were in coveted or strategic locations. Since Britain had the greatest number of territories, it gained the most prestige.
The Patriots had some advantages over British mercenaries. The Patriots were familiar with the land and different terrains that would be helpful to stage battles.
The colonies had a few advantages over the British. First, they knew the land better. Second, they had a strong sense of patriotism; they deeply believed in the cause they were fighting for.
Well two advantages for the colonists were they had lots of militia but the weakness is that they did not have enough wealth and they were poor at the same time, they did not all have guns aswell.
Oh, dude, the advantages of the Battle of Yorktown were like, winning the war and gaining independence, but the disadvantages were probably all the fighting and stuff. Like, I'm pretty sure the Americans were stoked about winning, but I bet the British were bummed they lost. So, yeah, that's the deal with Yorktown.
They didn't need to be, a loyalist normally was a colonist who was loyal to the British. The British were already British so they were already loyal to King George, unless there were some that weren't.
Because when you grow up then you could be one that say the British rules.
They had more weapons and a few more "different techniques"
One major advantage they had was that they had more weapons like cannons.
The number of troops, resources, gun powder, guidance from the Indians
They had some advantages like population starting at 2.5 million to 7.5 million colonists. They also had monetary wealth, naval forces, and a professional army (50,000 British, 30,000 Hessians, and 30, 000 American Loyalists).
Well they did sneak attacks on hard weather and some holidays that the british weren't expecting
The number of troops, resources, gun powder, guidance from the Indians
The British had a lot of advantages that stacked against the Revolutionary Army. For starters, the British had one of the world's best professional armies. The British also had the most powerful navy in the world, allowing them to blockade American ports to prevent trade. In addition, they knew where the Americans were. Did you know that the Revolutionary Army had some advantages over the British that were better than ANY British advantage?
fighting on own land, fighting because they wanted to not getting paid
they had a strronger army
Nassau C. Gowan has written: 'The advantages of membership in the order of British Templars' 'The advantages of membership in the order of British Templars'
