Civil liberties are those guarentteed rights such as the right to live, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. There are rights such as freedom from slavery, torture, the right to a fair trial and due process as stated in the Bill of Rights and others are in the United States Constitution. The most known and heavily guarded is the freedom of free speech and press, the right to due process, the right to own property, privacy, freedom of religion.
