George Washington gave many speeches in his life. However, the most remembered in American History, was his Farewell Address, in which he gave on September 3, 1796. This Farewell Address also told the citizens of the United States, that he would not seek a third term as President of the United States.

Some of the main point's from George Washington's Farewell Address included:

1. The basis for our political system in the United States, is the right of the people to make and to alter their constitutions of government. But, the Constitution of the United States, until changed or altered at any time, is sacredly obligatory upon all citizens until such changes are made to the document.

2. He warned about Americans working together, and made it clear that political parties only cause dislike and divisions among the people.

3. Washington, discussed about the good and the moral standards of politics.

4. He emphasised the importance of education.

5. The President told the American people, to observe the good faith and justice toward all nations, and that the United States should avoid getting involved with countries who don't offer good faith and justice toward their people.

6. George Washington stated that as for foreign policy, the United States needed to steer clear of permanent Alliances, with any portion of the foreign world.
