The Declaration of Independence gave all men (and women) the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and declared that all are created equal. It also declared independence from Great Britain announcing that the 13 American colonies then at war with Britain were no longer part of the British Empire. 1) There are 27 amendments to the constitution 2) The 5 rights of freedom are 1. The prohibition of government from forming a religion and protects each persons right to practice any faith without government interference 2. Freedom of speech 3. Freedom of the press to publish news, information and opinions without government interference. This also includes allowing people to publish their own newspapers, newsletters, etc.. 4. The freedom of assembly. The right to march, demonstrate, protest, carry signs and express their views in a peaceful way. It also means people can join groups and societies without government interference. 5. Freedom to petition government if they are in favour or against policies that affect them or they feel strongly about. This includes the right to petition signatures for a cause and to lobby legislative bodies if they are for or against legislation. The USA has a Market Economy for the most part in which producers and consumers determine the type of goods and services that are produced and what the price of them will be. The market economy is the basis for several systems including capitalism which USA also has.
