According to the US Constitution, the only delegated responsibility is as President of theSenate, and as the individual who would succeed the President (or serve as acting President where needed) during his term in office. As President of the Senate he can vote to break a tie vote, but that is the only time he can vote.

Recent Presidents sometimes ask the VP to represent the US in place of the President at such events as state funerals as well as carry out other assignments.

Essentially he is just available should the president have to leave office or becomes too ill to make decisions. He does what the president designates him to do within the power given by the constitution.

If he/she has other duties such as financing, they will continue with those. They are only generally needed when the president of the company is not available or away, they will then have the presidents duties. Because they have been offered this position, they will also often be a close advisor to the president and next to step into that position when it is available

The Vice President has no official job as such, but is still incredibly important. They do whatever the President needs them to. They can engage in diplomacy, do research, form bills...anything necessary. They will also take over the presidency if the President dies or is ill.

First and foremost the Vice-President is first in line to accede the presidency should the president die, resign, be removed from office, or unable to fulfill his duties. The Vice-President also serves as the President of the United States Senate and presides over their meetings only casting a vote in the case of a tie. He also presides over joint meetings of Congress when it convenes to count the vote of the Electoral College.

The Vice President presides in the Senate. He casts the deciding vote in case of a tie. He contacts the President every morning and inquires about his health. He might get an answer that is accurate. On the other hand it may not be correct as has been the case in the past when whoever makes the decision prefers not to surrender the power that goes with this job.

The Vice Pres attends funerals of foreign dignitaries and, at the request of the President, represents him when he is unable to attend personally.

According to the United States Constitution, the vice president has very few constitutional duties. The Vice President's main duty is to preside over the Senate meetings. The Vice President is allowed to vote in these meetings, but only for a tie-breaker. According to the 12th Amendment, the Vice President also presides over a joint session of Congress when it meets to count the vote of the Electoral College. The Vice President is also an important position because they are next for the presidency if anything happens to the president.

Duties of the President and Vice-president?

The duty of the Pres. is to veto laws and he tells congress if he wants them to make up a bil. He also is the commander in chief which means he can do pretty much whatever he wnts with the army except start a war (congress has to vote on that).
