Do Elected officials still follow the US Constitution?

Regardless of their view on the U.S. Constitution, officials have to follow the Constitution because it is the supreme law of the land. However, there is a strict and loose interpretation of the Constitution, and modern politics is related to the loose interpretation making it seem like they don't follow it.

What are high crimes?

In the constitution, it only specifies treason and bribery, and then says "and other high crimes." So, these seem to be very serious crimes involving corruption or betraying the country in some way. (It should be noted that this does not refer to a policy that one political party opposes; words like "treason" and "betrayal" are thrown around a lot in political rhetoric, but the Founding Fathers seem to refer to specific acts of corruption, or perhaps to selling out one's country the way a spy does.)

What 2 slave issues were discussed when creating the US Constitution?

The questions were whether to allow slavery (this decision was postponed for 20 years) and whether to count slaves as residents when determining Congressional apportionment and taxation (there was the 3/5 Compromise, which may seem ludicrous today, because the slaves could not vote).

How does the Constitution relate to What is happening now on the news?

The Constitution for the United States of America serves as the supreme law of the land for the U.S. and has done so since the inception of that nation. Throughout history, regardless of the events that unfolded, for the federal government, and to a lesser degree the state and local governments, the Constitution was always relevant as it is today. There is a notion that because of the age of the document, because other countries in other lands have adopted constitutions different than the one of the United States, that the U.S. Constitution is outdated or not functional for a modern world. There are those who point out how decidedly undemocratic the Constitution is and declare this a flaw. The Constitution was written in an attempt to craft the government most likely to do their job of protecting the rights of the people. It is this basic, simple, document that remains as relevant today as it ever was, because it is a document commanding government to serve the people and work towards ensuring their right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness and expressly prohibiting that government from impeding, denying or disparaging the rights of any individual. That the federal government of the United States seem insistent on systematically stripping away the rights of the individual in favor of civil rights and civil liberties does not make the Constitution any less relevant and is not a sign of weakness in the Constitution but of the people.

What are groups of stars whose positions in the sky seem to change as Earth moves?

The groups of stars whose positions seem to change as Earth moves are called constellations. These groupings of stars are a result of patterns that early astronomers and cultures identified in the sky. The apparent movement of constellations is due to Earth's rotation on its axis and its orbit around the Sun.

Could the proceedings of a constitution convention be kept secret today?

No, i doubt it. In fact I don't think that the constitution could be agreed to. Congress can't seem to agree on anything today.
