Now you might ask yourself how/where he died and this paragraph will tell you. Washington had only three years of retirement at Mount Vernon. He died from a throat infection on December 14, 1799. There are some who say he died from pneumonia or that the doctor bled him, which was a common practice back then, and he bled him too much and that caused his death. Most believe it was a throat infection, like tonsillitis or laryngitis.
Another answer to the question, "How did George Washington die?" could be that he died with courage and grace. On his deathbed, he said, I die hard but I am not afraid to go. At his funeral, Henry Lee claimed him to be "first in war, first in peace, and first in the hearts of his countrymen".

He adopted two of Martha's children there names are john and Martha. Martha was named after her mother.
Washington loved ice cream so much he had 3 ice cream freezers at Mt. Vernon. He was the biggest brewer of VA whisky in the colonies, and he knew how to spin congress. A good example of this is his reports to congress concerning Valley Forge. He reports he needs more funds, but the truth is that the men were well fed and warm. National Parks historians have proven that the troops had 3 pounds of meat, fruit and vegetables a week. He never liked to shake hands because he thought his hands were too big and he was not a person that joked with people. There is one report that a delegate tried to joke with him at the constitutional convention, but Washington never responded. It is reported he was a very good dancer and may have had several affairs with officer wives of his command. He kept to a tight schedule and no matter who was at Mt. Vernon he went to bed at 9 PM and got up at 5 to ride out to oversee his plantation. Nothing would change this schedule and it is one of the factors that contributed to his death. He went out on a cold wet day sick to see to the plantation and had breakfast in wet clothing. Within two days he was dead. His plantation also grew many new crops and he experimented with different plants some of which still exist today.
Some facts about George Washington's early life are that he worked at age 16 and took a surveying lands in Virginia,he also joined the virginia militia, and fought hard and bravely.
