The Democratic Party is 'run' by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) which writes the party platform and organizes the party conventions - that is usually what is used to refer to the entire party (even though there are separate state operations). Similar language is used for the Republicans (RNC).

You will see occasional reference to Republicans as the GOP (Grand Old Party) but that is more of a historical reference than working acronym. The Democratic Party does not have a similar acronym.
