Science supports Islam, not contradict it like other religions. The Qura'an revealed numerous scientific facts 1430 years ago, years before science discovered them. The Qura'an also revealed historical events happened in the past that archeologist just found their remains. It also predicted future events that happened few hundrad years after the prophet's death. Last one just occured years ago: The Qura'an predicted that metal would speak, which sounded silly 1430 years ago, but then the radio, TV, etc were invented and metal has spoken. It also predected that people would compete trying to build the hieghest buiding, sounds familiar?

Islam is a religion of monotheism. According to Islam religion principles, Muslims believe in one and one one God (Allah in Arabic), the Creator, with no associate, no partner, no son, no companion, and no resemblance. Refer to question below for more information.

It's a monotheistic religion.

Muslims believe in one God who has no partners, no children, no parent,...

This is the Muslim understanding of God:

112:1-4

Say: He is Allah, the One and Only;

Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;

And there is none like unto Him.

2:256

Allah - there is no god except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of all existence. Neither sleepiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what is behind them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi (throne) extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Beliefs:

Muslims believe in One God and the Muhammad is his last messenger.

Muslims believe in God, his angels, his books, his messengers, the Day of Judgment, destiny.

These are some laws of Islam:

6:151 Say, "Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited to you. [He commands] that you not associate anything with Him, and to parents, good treatment, and do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them. And do not approach immoralities - what is apparent of them and what is concealed. And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed] except by [legal] right. This has He instructed you that you may use reason."

The holy book of Islam is the Qur'an. It contains guide lines for human life. It contains commands of Almighty God guiding the Muslims how they should spend their life. It also describes hell and heaven. It describes the attributes of Almighty God: He is the Sole Creator, Sustainer, Provider, Ruler of the worlds. He and He alone deserves worship. He has NO Son, No Wife, No Parents, No Offspring, and NO PARTNER. He is the Most Merciful, Most Gracious.

The Qur'an also gives rules of governance. It teaches to be kind, merciful, caring, loving and sacrificing. It stresses upon service to humanity. It teaches equality of all human beings irrespective of caste, creed, color, country etc. It guarantees sanctity of human life, property and honor.

The Qur'an is a huge book. Its teachings are universal.

Some of the important teachings are:

  • First to worship the one and only one God and believe in his oneness.
  • Second to witness that prophet Mohamed (peace upon him) is God's prophet and messenger.
  • Third to believe in and practice ritual prayers, paying the prescribed charity (ZAKAT), fasting Ramadan, and performing Pilgrimage if you have capacity.
  • Fourth to have faith in God, all His angels, all His holy books, all His prophets, day of Judgment, and destiny.
  • Fifth to fully obey to God and his messenger Mohamed (peace upon him) by obeying what they order to do and what they order not to do.
  • Sixth to do good deeds for the benefit of his community, nature, and mankind.
Muslim are taught, by Islam, to observe the both wings of Islam religion; namely:
  • the first wing is to keep performing the ritual worships, and
  • the second wing is to keep performing good deeds to the benefit of himself, family, community, and mankind.
As no bird can fly conveniently with only one wing or with one wing weaker than the other, Muslim can't be welcomed in the Heavens unless he is keeping good balance of the two Islam wings.

One may refer to the related questions listed at the bottom.
