The biggest Empire in the world was the British Empire, it was the biggest Empire the world has ever seen by far! It stretched right around the globe and a saying was born "the sun never sets on the British empire" because a part of the empire was always in daylight. Here is a map of the world, bits marked red was under British rule: http://northbritain.files.wordpress.com/2008/10british-empire-1920.jpg AS a matter of fact the mongolian empire was the biggest ever seen It was ruled by chinggis khan. And it was 4 times the roman empire at its peak. However, when chinggis khan died, the empire shrunk a lot. The empire is the size of Europe and china together!

How big was the Egyptian empire?

The Roman Empire was the third largest empire antiquity saw (after the Achaemenid Empire, the first of the four pre-Islamic Persian empires, and the very short lived Macedonian Empire of Alexander the Great) and the 24th largest in history. It covered Western Europe up to the River Rhine and southern Germany, England and Wales, the Balkan Peninsula, Romania and part of Moldova in South-eastern Europe, Turkey and the Levant (the area of Asia along the Mediterranean Sea) in Asia, Egypt and the coastal area of the rest of North Africa. It covered an area of five million square kilometres (1.93 square miles). It covered the area of 21 modern countries (not counting the microstates of Lichtenstein, Andorra, Monaco, St. Marino and Vatican City) and parts of 12 other modern countries.

What is the name of the emperor who was killed by his body guard in the fall of rome and the rise of byzantium?

There was not such thing as the fall of Rome and the rise of Byzantium. The term fall of Rome refers to the fall of the western part of the empire, not the fall of the city of Rome. This part of this empire fell under the weight of the invasions by the Germanic peoples. The eastern part was not affected by these invasions and continued to exist for nearly 1,000 years. Byzantine empire is a term which has been coined by historians to indicate the eastern part of the Roman empire after the fall of the western part. The people in question did not know this term and called their empire Roman Empire. Therefore, the so-called Byzantine Empire was the continuation of the Roman Empire. As for Byzantium, the name of this city changed to Constantinople more than 100 years before the Byzantine period. Therefore, there was no such thing as the rise of Byzantium either as a city of as an empire. Six Roman Emperors were killed by the imperial guard, but these were long before the fall of the western part of the Roman Empire
