There was no U.S.A. when George Washington was born, so he may have been a British citizen at birth.

well the answer above is patially right he wasntconsidered a british citizen because he was born in the colonies he came, from Scottish decent, but he was considered a colonist

There wasn't a United States of America when he was born. He was of British descent.
