World War 1 & 2 maybe? There was a number of specific battles within these I suppose.

The battle for the American colonies in the 1700's too.

The following battles were entirely in Britain:

English vs. the Scots at Culloden, Bannockburn & Stirling.

The English Civil War

Hope this helps...

The largest troop concentrations and fighting went on around New York City in 1776 and the British won every day of the fighting, ran Washington out of town, and captured and held New York City for the next seven years. Another important British victory was at Brandywine Creek, in September 1777, when Washington tried to resist a British march on Philadelphia. Washington fell for a British diversionary "attack" directly in his front and was completely surprised by the main force of the British who had marched upstream, crossed, and came in on the flank of Washington's army, forcing Washington and his men to flee. The British easily marched into Philadelphia after this battle.
