When George Washington was 11 his father died. At this point, Washington's half-brother Lawrence cared for George and his younger siblings.
Born into a family on the margins of the virginiaaristocracy, Washington advanced rapidly to local prominence owing to his brother lawrence-massachusetts'sbrief career in the British military establishment and to Lawrence's marriage into the powerful fairfax-virginiafamily. Ambitious and intelligent, though lacking formal education, Washington obtained the office of regional militia adjutant, the assignment of warning the French in the Ohio Valley to depart from lands claimed by Virginia, and afterward the position of special aide to Gen.
The president that took care of laundry was Washington. This is a pun on Washington's name, as he would have had to wash the laundry.
I think him being the first president would have helped unite the nation, because the country needed someone in charge who would not hold too much power and take over. So instead of having a "king" they had a "president." George Washington implied that they needed to work together or the country would basically fall apart.
George Washington was the first president of the United States under the new US Constitution. He established the cabinet which states that president may require written opinions of the heads of the executive branch department. And he established cabinet meetings and other procedure for his office. Washington allowed Secretary of Treasury Alexander Hamilton to establish (or at least attempt to) an effective Bank (Bank of America) in order to pay off the national debt of the previous war. Washington also made the first official move which showed that the government was indeed effective by his strong response to the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794 . Lastly Washington's attempts at neutrality in the French Revolution and the ensuing conflicts between France and Britain kept the US mostly free of European crises for a more few years.
John Adams did not command the respect that was given to Washington. He was short and fat and did not look like a hero and , of course, he was not a soldier. Washington , on the other hand, was tall and powerfully built. When he sat on his horse in dress uniform he looked every inch the hero that he was. Adams was highly educated and a skilled lawyer. He probably was more intelligent than Washington, although Washington had a good business and common sense and better people skills than Adams.
