He was a member of the House of Burgesses, Justice of Fairfax County, Virginia, Chairman of the Constitutional Convention and president of the USA. George Washington was a leader in the Congresses that appeared a few years before the Revolution . He was appointed commander-in-chief of colonial armies which had a political aspect to it since he had to battle constantly with the colonial governments to get supplies and recruits for his army.
